"Non-Communicable Diseases: The New Frontier in Developing Countries"

The lecture will be presented by Dr Stefan Oschmann, Vice Chairman of the Executive Board & Deputy CEO of Merck. Dr Oschmann is President of International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers & Associations (IFPMA) and Vice President of European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA). He has been Vice Chairman of the Executive Board and Deputy CEO of Merck since January 2015. Prior to this he was responsible for Merck’s Pharma business as Member of the Executive Board from 2011 to 2014. Dr Oschmann will speak about non-communicable diseases and in particular will introduce the Merck Capacity Advancement Program. This five year programme in Africa has several interventions and initiatives to address diabetes, hypertension, cancer and fertility management and prevention programmes.
