A highly drug resistant falciparum malaria parasite lineage from western Cambodia, which the press have dubbed a “malaria superbug” has spread to Thailand, Laos and now southern Vietnam. This is a serious threat to malaria control and eradication efforts. In the light of these recent developments, Professor Sir Nick White will talk about Antimalarial Drug Resistance.
