The collective cell biology of organ formation

Darren Gilmour is a group leader at EMBL in Heidelberg. He did his PhD in Cambridge and then worked as a postdoc in Nobel prize winner Christiane Nüsslein-Volhard’s lab in Tübingen. His research is at the interface between cell, developmental and systems biology. He studies how cells behave collectively during migration and organ formation. His experimental work is mostly in zebrafish but he also uses computer modelling to integrate and interpret large data sets. He is an excellent speaker!
