DESCRIPTION:We will present the guiding principles and key activities of o
ur qualitative health network over the past two years\, followed by a prac
tical “how-to” series. These sessions will offer critical reflections
on core themes in contemporary qualitative research\, including reflexivit
y\, the use of AI in qualitative methods\, and patient and public involvem
ent (PPI)\, as well as commonly used concepts and emerging terminology in
the field.\n\nWe warmly invite you to meet the network\, share your experi
ences\, and connect with colleagues as we work together to strengthen and
expand our supportive research community.\n\nSpeakers: \nDr Emily Hunt (Br
unel University of London)\nDr Keiko Kanno (University of Oxford) \nDr Mad
die Tremblett (University of the West of England)\nLorraine (Lori) Wright
(Edge Hill University) \n\n\nSpeakers:\nEmily Hunt (Brunel University)\, M

DESCRIPTION:Maintaining well-organised data is essential for researchers t
o ensure the accuracy\, integrity\, and long-term usability of their work.
Approaches to research data management vary according to factors such as
the type\, volume\, and format of data\, as well as the systems and platfo
rms used for collection and analysis. For instance\, while cloud storage m
ay be suitable for large datasets\, it may be less practical for fieldwork
or research in remote locations. Researchers working with archival materi
al\, secondary sources\, or big data often develop tailored strategies to
organise and safeguard their data effectively.\n\nThis panel discussion br
ings together researchers who have completed data collection to share thei
r experiences and reflections on managing research data throughout the res
earch process.\n\nTopics for discussion will include:\n\nApproaches to org
anising\, storing and updating data across online and offline platforms\nC
onsiderations for planning data management in the pre-collection phase\nCo
mmon challenges encountered in post-collection data management and strateg
ies to address them\nMethods for backing up and securing data against loss
or corruption\n\n\n\nThe workshop is open to doctoral candidates and acad
emic staff from all disciplines\, at any stage of their research\, whether
in the planning phase\, actively collecting data\, or working with existi
ng datasets. The panel format will allow for ample discussion and question
s\, enabling participants to engage with panellists\, exchange experiences
\, and reflect on lessons drawn from practical research data management. R
efreshments will be provided. \n\nPanellists \n\nDr Jack Joyce (Research P
rogramme Manager\, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences) \n
Dr Russell Kapumha (Postdoctoral Researcher\, School of Archaeology)\nKris
ten McCollum (DPhil\, Migration Studies) \nProfessor David Zeitlyn (Profes
sor of Social Anthropology\, Fellow of Wolfson College) \n\nChair \n\nDr K
