DESCRIPTION:Despite tremendous progress over the last two decades\, nearly
  ninety women and children die in India every hour. Most of these deaths a
 re preventable\, and occur in pockets of populations characterised by remo
 teness\, marginalisation\, and poverty. What stops progress at the last mi
 le? What works at scale? What lessons can we draw for public health more b
 roadly? \n\nIn this talk\, Chandrika Bahadur\, CEO of the Antara Foundatio
 n\, will join Professor Alan Stein\, Senior Research Fellow in Global Heal
 th and Public Policy\, to explore these questions. Chandrika Bahadur will 
 bring the lessons of ten years of work from the Antara Foundation\, a rema
 rkable organisation that uses data to train community health workers and y
 oung mothers to identify and manage risk at the right time\, in some of ce
