DESCRIPTION:Since 2018\, we have seen a growth of Latino Republicans runni
 ng for and winning in both state and federal United States Elections in pl
 aces that one would not expect.  In this month's Balliol Online Lecture\, 
 Professor Jason Casellas (John G Winant Visiting Fellow in American Govern
 ment 2023-24) will explain who they are\, where they are running\, who is 
 winning\, and their impact once in office.\n\nJason Casellas is Associate 
 Professor of Political Science at the University of Houston specialising i
 n American politics\, with specific research and teaching interests in Lat
 ino politics\, legislative politics\, and state and local politics. He is 
 the author of Latino Representation in State Houses and Congress (New York
 : Cambridge University Press). He is the recipient of numerous fellowships
  and awards\, including a Princeton Fellowship\, an American Political Sci
 ence Association Fellowship\, a Ford Motor Company Fellowship\, the Samuel
  DuBois Cook Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University\, and a United Sta
 tes Studies Centre Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Sydney (Au
