DESCRIPTION:Malú Tansey is the Norman and Susan Fixel Professor of Neuros
 cience and Neurology\, and Co-Director for the Center for Translational Re
 search in Neurodegenerative Disease and the Parkinson’s Foundation Resea
 rch Center at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Professor Tan
 sey’s main research interest is the role and regulation of inflammation 
 and immune system responses in brain health and disease. Her lab investiga
 tes the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying neuroinflammation in 
 age-related neurodegenerative and other neurological disorders (PD\, AD\, 
 FTD\, and ALS) with a particular focus on the gut-brain axis & the long-te
 rm goal of developing better therapeutic interventions to prevent or treat
