DESCRIPTION:This year’s Frankland Visitor to Brasenose is James Bobin (B
 NC Modern History 1990). James is a multi-award-winning writer\, film dire
 ctor\, and producer. He has worked on some very well-known and influential
  projects\, and this is an incredible opportunity to pick the brains of so
 meone who has carved out a stellar career in the film and television indus
 tries. See below for a biography that highlights some of his key projects.
 \n\nThis year’s Frankland Visitor\, *James Bobin*\, has combined his tal
 ents as a writer\, director\, and producer to create and shape some memora
 ble and groundbreaking projects in recent decades. He is currently directi
 ng the third season of _PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS_ for Disney+. He w
 as nominated for a DGA award and has won two Children's & Family Emmys for
  his work as director on the pilot and second episode of the series' first
  season. \n\nPreviously\, James served as director and executive producer 
 on _THE MYSTERIOUS BENEDICT SOCIETY_ for Disney+ for which he also won a C
 hildren's & Family Emmy. \n\nHe is well-known for resurrecting the Muppets
  franchise\, directing _THE MUPPETS_ starring Amy Adams and Jason Segel\, 
 which was an international sensation that won an Oscar for Best Original S
 ong and spurred a sequel\, _MUPPETS MOST WANTED_\, which he also directed.
  James' ability to navigate different genres is further exemplified in his
  direction with Johnny Depp\, Sacha Baron Cohen and Helena Bonham Carter i
 n _ALICE THROUGH THE LOOKING GLASS_ for Joe Roth and Disney. The combined 
 worldwide box office of his work is almost a billion dollars.\n\nIn televi
 sion\, he was the driving force behind _DA ALI G SHOW_\, where he served a
 s writer\, director\, and producer for every episode and helped create the
  iconic characters of Ali G\, Borat\, and Bruno. He co-created the HBO sho
 w\, _FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS_ with Jemaine Clement and Bret McKenzie\, whe
 re he took on multiple roles\, running the show while also contributing as
  a producer\, writer\, and director. _FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS_ and _DA ALI
