DESCRIPTION:The session will bring together a group of senior academics\, 
 policymakers and practitioners to discuss the role of cross-sector collabo
 rations and innovative financing tools in supporting refugees. We'll look 
 at a number of examples of outcomes-focused contracts seeking to facilitat
 e the integration of refugees in both high and lower income countries to u
 nderstand the barriers refugees are facing\, the challenges of coordinatin
 g holistic support for refugees and the underlining mechanisms and princip
 les that can help drive robust outcomes-focused programmes. We’ll also c
 onsider the importance of including refugees and host communities in the d
 esign of programmes.\n \nAttendees will have a chance to hear from a wide 
 range of experts\, including Alexander Betts\, Oxford Professor of Forced 
 Migration and International Affairs\, and a pioneer in the field\, as well
  as academics Stéphane Saussier & Simon Porcher from the Sorbonne\, Paris
 \, Joanna Penrose Buckley\, Head of Refugee Integration\, UK Government\, 
 and Béatrice Delperdange\, KOIS\, and Samir Omar\, FIM\, two experienced 
 impact investors with lived experience setting up and delivering outcomes-

DESCRIPTION:This Engaging with Evidence webinar session will investigate t
 he use of outcomes contracting as a potential approach to foster cohesive 
 cross-sector collaborations to improve social outcomes. We'll look at find
 ings from original research carried out by the Government Outcomes Lab\, B
 lavatnik School of Government\, as well as other practical examples from t
 he UK\, US and low- and middle- income countries. \n\nIn particular\, we
 ’ll be looking at The Kirklees Integrated Support Service Social Impact 
 Bond (KISS SIB)\, which is an exciting example of an outcomes-based contra
 ct structure serving to orchestrate a complex ecosystem of local providers
 . Seeking to support adults who face barriers to living independently and 
 who have historically experienced poor and fragmented provision from lots 
 of different parts of the state and voluntary sector – the KISS SIB brin
 gs together a wide range of areas from benefits and housing to mental heal
 th and the criminal justice system. What's at the centre of this\, is effe
 ctive stewardship carried out by The Kirklees Better Outcomes Partnership.
