DESCRIPTION:Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most prevalent neurod
 egenerative disease characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons in t
 he midbrain. Despite intensive research over the last decades\, our unders
 tanding of the complex disease progression is still rather limited. The ta
 lk will show how we use longitudianal multiomics characterization of patie
 nt-based induced pluripotent stem cells to identify underlying mechanisms 
 of PD development in a top-down approach\, and how the identified core mec
 hanism of calcium-mediated mitochondrial control can be mechanistically in
 vestigated by combining experiments with computational modelling in an int
