DESCRIPTION:This talk presents results from the Million Women Study\, a la
rge 20-year prospective cohort. The talk will first explain the methods of
the Study and briefly summarise some of the many results arising from the
Study. A rationale will be presented for why the cohort is a useful resou
rce for investigating risk factors for dementia. Results will then be pres
ented from an analysis aimed at determining whether mid-life obesity\, poo
r diet and physical inactivity are causes of dementia. \nSpeakers:\nDr Sar
 ah Floud (University of Oxford)
