DESCRIPTION:Utilising data from Finland\, where genetic details of approxi
mately 500\,000 individuals are linked to a national health registry\, thi
s presentation will explore the use of polygenic scores and electronic hea
lth records (EHRs) to predict disease susceptibility. It will highlight th
e challenges and successes of employing polygenic scores for disease predi
ction. Additionally\, the talk will discuss the application of machine lea
rning algorithms to predict healthcare outcomes from EHRs\, assessing thei
r fairness and generalizability across different populations. The presenta
tion will conclude with a direct comparison of genetic and EHR-based predi
ctions to assess which approach is most predictive and generalizable acros
s healthcare systems.\nSpeakers:\nDr Andrea Ganna (FIMM)
