DESCRIPTION:Almost 10 years ago\, the first global assessment of biodivers
 ity and ecosystem services was conducted\, focusing on pollinators\, polli
 nation\, and food production\, with the goal of improving biodiversity pro
 tection through policy actions. Several global biodiversity assessments ha
 ve since followed\, using similar methodological approaches. In my present
 ation\, I will provide insights into the procedures and methods\, report o
 n the main results\, discuss limitations\, with a particular emphasis on o
 ur recently published fact check on biodiversity decline in Germany. I wil
 l also explore implications of these reports to foster a discussion on how
  researchers should bring their findings to policy makers and society to a
 dvance the social-ecological transformations currently being discussed at 
 regional\, national\, and global scales. I look forward to hearing opinion
