DESCRIPTION:The Bodleian Libraries are delighted to announce the second Su
 nderland Collection Symposium: *_MAPS Digital | Analogue_*. This day-long 
 event will take place in-person at the Weston Library and online.\n\nDisco
 ver the fascinating art and science of digitising historical maps and atla
 ses\, the analysis of colour on antique maps\, and cutting-edge conservati
 on techniques.\n\nSpeakers for the event include:\n\n* the Bodleian Librar
 ies' own Map Librarian *Nick Millea* introducing the remarkable late-sixte
 enth century Sheldon Tapestry Maps.\n* *Donna Sherman* and *Jamie Robinson
 * showing two treasures from The Rylands Institute: the Borgia/Velletri ma
 p and Pierre Desceliers' world map.\n* Architect and graphic designer *Eri
 c de Broche des Combes* introducing the world of native digital maps and m
 aps in online game design.\n* Leading globe authority *Sylvia Sumira* will
  unveil her work as an expert and conservator of historic printed globes.\
 n* Professors *Dr Diana Lange* and *Dr Oliver Hahn* will discuss their pio
 neering research into colours on old maps with *Dr Sara Öberg Strådal*\,
