DESCRIPTION:Artificial intelligence (AI) is poised to become one of the mo
 st transformative technologies in history. Yet the potential benefits of A
 I also comes with significant societal risks. To explore how best to gover
 n AI\, the United Kingdom will host a major global summit on AI safety fro
 m 1-2 November.\n\nThe AI Safety Summit seeks to develop international con
 sensus on addressing the risks associated with ‘frontier AI’ models 
 – AI technology even more advanced than what exists today\, which could 
 severely threaten public safety and global security.  \n\nAhead of the sum
 mit\, this panel discussion\, co-hosted by the Berkman Klein Center for In
 ternet & Society at Harvard University\, will discuss emerging trends in A
 I and the prospects for achieving meaningful global cooperation on its gov
 ernance and regulation.\n\nThe discussion will be moderated by Dr Brianna 
 Rosen in conversation with Ciaran Martin\, Professor of Practice in the Ma
 nagement of Public Organisations at the Blavatnik School of Government\; J
 ulie Owono\, an affiliate of Harvard’s Berkman Klein Center and an inaug
 ural member of the Meta Oversight Board\; Roxana Radu\, Associate Professo
 r of Digital Technologies and Public Policy at the Blavatnik School\; and
