DESCRIPTION:"An image is worth a thousand words\," the saying goes. While 
 powerful images can captivate and inspire action\, we still have much to l
 earn about using imagery effectively for wildlife conservation. In this ta
 lk\, I will review our current understanding of how images are used to pro
 mote wildlife conservation\, present recent research on which images have 
 the most impact\, and discuss the emerging challenges posed by generative 
 AI and image manipulation.\n\nDiogo Veríssimo is a Research Fellow at the
  University of Oxford\, where he focuses on the design and evaluation of i
 nterventions to conserve wildlife. He works across issues as diverse as th
 e illegal wildlife trade\, plastic pollution and fisheries management. Dio
 go is currently the Chair of the IUCN SSC CEC Behaviour Change Taskforce a
 nd a Board member of the European Social Marketing Association. Find more
