DESCRIPTION:Join this free one-hour practical\, interactive workshop from 
 the UK EQUATOR Centre. In our Lightning Workshops series\, our methodology
 \, writing\, and communication experts cover all of the essential aspects 
 of writing and publishing your academic research. These sessions are desig
 ned for early-career biomedical and clinical researchers.\n\nWhat do you a
 nd your co-authors need to decide before you start to write? We will help 
 you refine your message\, define your target audience and choose an approp
 riate journal to ensure a smooth publication process. We’ll talk about d
 ifferent kinds of publications\, how to spot a predatory journal\, and thi
 nking beyond journal impact factor. You’ll have a chance to apply the co
 ncepts to your own research.\n\nPaula Dhiman is a medical statistician wor
 king on meta-research at the UK EQUATOR Centre in the Centre for Statistic
 s in Medicine. She focuses on the methodological conduct and reporting of 
 non-randomised research\, aiming to help improve the quality and integrity
  of future research. She is passionate about statistical methodology and o
 bservational research\, and is particularly interested in prognostic/risk 
 modelling. \n\nJen is CSM’s science writing\, dissemination\, and public
 ation specialist. She’s here to help your research reach its full potent
 ial through clear\, complete writing that targets the right audience. She 
 develops resources on how to write fantastic health research articles and 
 teaches academic writing skills through the UK EQUATOR Centre.\n\nThis fre
 e workshop is open to University of Oxford\, Oxford Brookes\, and Oxford U
 niversity Hospitals staff and students\, but we do ask you to book a spot.
