DESCRIPTION:Everyone is welcome: members of the university\, water and env
 ironmental professionals\, and members of the public!\n\nThis evening semi
 nar is jointly organised by the Environmental Change Institute and CIWEM (
 Central Southern branch).  The aim of the meeting is to provide short pres
 entations on three aspects of climate change mitigation and adaptation to 
 interested parties\, and some time for Q&A.\n\nAlice Chautard: “Meeting 
 the Challenges of the Paris Agreement”\nAlice will present the key messa
 ges and conclusions from the 1.5C conference (20-22 September 2016) which 
 brought together researchers\, policy makers\, businesses and members of c
 ivil society\, to understand the impacts of 1.5C warming and assess the fe
 asibility of meeting the Paris Agreement. Ms Chautard is based at the Envi
 ronmental Change Institute \n\nDr Matt Ives: “Building pathways to Paris
 ”\nFulfilling the UK’s commitment to the Paris climate agreement will 
 require significant strategic infrastructure interventions.  Matt will out
 line some alternative pathways developed as part of a UK National Needs As
 sessment.  Dr Ives is a Senior Researcher with the Infrastructure Transiti
 ons Research Consortium\, itrc.org.uk\n\nDr Monika Zurek: “Mitigating cl
 imate change while feeding the world”\nMonika will discuss the implicati
 ons of the Paris Agreement for changes to our food system as agri-food sys
 tems are currently one of the biggest emitters of greenhouse gas emissions
 . Dr Zurek is a Senior Researcher working on the SUSFANS project\, susfans
