This seminar marks the launch of a NEW seminar series at Green Templeton College. In this first event, Dr Figueras will talk about the long-term challenges facing health systems in Europe.

The National Health Service and social care system have been central institutions in British life since the 1940s. In a time of unprecedented change, their future is uncertain. Health and social care systems in other countries, whether high-, middle- or low-income, face similar challenges. Short-term pressures and crises capture the attention of press, politicians and public. But there is an urgent need to consider the long-term question of ‘What kind of system can best provide the health and care of the future, whilst remaining both financially and politically sustainable?”
