Dynamic readout of nucleic acids by proteins

Protein-ligand interactions are often considered as contacts of rigid bodies. Macromolecules, however, exhibit high degree of plasticity which can be used for their dynamic conformational readout. This readout greatly expands the repertoire of molecular recognition mechanisms but is also difficult to study. In this talk, I will present several examples of studies of dynamic conformational sampling of nucleic acids from various pathways including reverse transcription and DNA repair.
