OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Narnia and the Political Imagination
Join us for an engaging online academic discussion exploring the literary imagination of C. S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia. The speakers — Dr Michael Ward and Dr Eduardo Gutiérrez González — will delve into the ways Lewis presents themes of polity, leadership, freedom, slavery, war, and peace, drawing connections between the fantastical worlds of Narnia and profound questions about human conflict and cultural transformation. The conversation will focus on the cultural role our narratives and social imaginaries play; it will aim to provide insights into the intersection of literature, philosophy, and theology, offering fresh perspectives on how these themes resonate with peace-building, politics, and reconciliation in contemporary society.
