OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Eight years into the horizon of aspirational maternal and newborn health pledges: a comprehensive exploration of the Burundian Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care system
In this talk, Dr Desire Habonimana will take us through the maternal and newborn health sphere in Burundi and how the country is committed to address maternal and newborn mortality with unprecedented political and stewardship resolve. He will focus on the government initiative to provide quality care for emergency maternal and newborn complications which started in 2017 and is backed by many partners and local stakeholders to i) examine the readiness and performance of this initiative, ii) its empirical impact on mortality as well as its sustainability likelihood and, iii) use the human resources lens to develop investment proposals that could nudge the country’s effort.
