Lung protective ventilation based on physics and physiology

Professor Jonson is renowned in the field of mechanical ventilation, respiratory physiology and biomedical engineering. As well as recent work on lung protective ventilation in human studies, he enjoyed a long career as a world leader in lung mechanics in Critical Care, and in ventilator design, being particularly famous for having invented the Servo 900 series of ventilator back in the day, which revolutionised mechanical ventilation in modern Intensive Care practice.
