Professor Carl Heneghan, Director of the Centre for Evidence-Based Medicine, will discuss the lessons learnt from research undertaken in the Centre over the last 10 years on self monitoring of oral anticoagulation. As a result of this work he has gone onto chair WHO guidelines on self-care and CVD risk, co-direct a WHO collaboration centre and directly impact upon NICE guidance. The talk will discuss why and where you start and the problems addressed as this remains one of the crucial steps in developing impactful research.
