OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Wars are ubiquitous in the everyday lives of people who imagine themselves living in peace. Yet, it is easy not to see them, even if they are constantly in the news. In this lecture, guided by works of Paul Nash and others, Aida, Hozić, Associate Professor of International Relations at the University of Florida, whose research is situated at the intersections of feminist political economy, cultural studies, and international security, proposes that to see wars, we must look sideways, elsewhere, and outside of the frame of the visuals served to us daily. The gallery will be open thirty minutes before and after the talk.
