New musical settings of Dylan Thomas
Professor John Goodby, a leading authority on Dylan Thomas and editor of Thomas’ Collected Poems, will introduce a concert of new settings of Thomas’ poetry. This concert continues work on a project which commemorates the 70th anniversary of the death of Dylan Thomas by composing new settings of the Welsh poet’s work. With new compositions by David Lancaster, Sadie Harrison, Philip Grange, Rhian Samuel and Hayley Jenkins, the songs will be performed in Worcester’s intimate studio space by Christopher O’Gorman (tenor) and David Pipe (piano).
