The Meaning of War - How do we define war and its meaning in society, both past and present?
Since 1999, Pembroke College has been hosting a visiting scholar each year as part of the Fulbright programme. This Trinity Term we are delighted to welcome Fulbright Visiting Fellow Gregory A. Daddis, Professor of History and USS Midway Chair in Modern U.S. Military History.

The Fulbright Seminar Series for 2023 will be on the topic of War and Society. On Tuesday 25 April at 5pm, Professor Daddis will be joined by Sir Hew Strachan FBA, FRSE, Emeritus Fellow of All Souls College at the University of Oxford to discuss: ‘How do we define war and its meaning in society, before past and present?’

The event starts at 5pm on Tuesday 25 April in the Eccles Room, which is fully wheelchair accessible.
