Janine Natalya Clark is a Reader in Gender, International Criminal Law and Transitional Justice in the Law School at the University of Birmingham. Her research focuses mainly on conflict-related sexual violence, transitional justice processes and reconciliation. Her work is interdisciplinary and has a strong empirical component, reflecting the fact that she has conducted fieldwork in the former Yugoslavia for the last 15 years. Janine has published three books and almost 50 journal articles. Her most recent book – Rape, Sexual Violence and Transitional Justice Challenges: Lessons from Bosnia-Herzegovina – was published in September. She has recently commenced a five-year European Research Council Consolidator Grant about resilience in survivors of sexual violence, using the three case study countries of Bosnia-Herzegovina, Colombia and Uganda.
