OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

‘The Life of Lady Kofoworola Ademola’
‘The Life of Lady Kofoworola Ademola’, with Pamela Roberts, Founder and Director, Black Oxford Untold Stories
6:00 pm
“Girls have brains too”: these are the words of a small, strong, defiant woman who carved out a path for young women and girls to follow in and create their destiny. The talk will describe St Hugh’s alumna Kofoworola Ademola Moore’s (English, 1932) life as the daughter of parents who were members of what could be regarded as African Yoruba elite; her determination to pursue a teaching career; and her rise to prominence as an advocate for women’s education and social reform.

The lecture, in Mordan Hall, will be preceded by the unveiling of a picture featuring Lady Ademola during the visit to St Hugh’s College of Oba Alaiyeluwa Ademola in 1937 and a drinks reception, and will be followed by an audience Q and A session. All are welcome and the event is open to the public.
