OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Debating Capitalism: Tom Kibasi, Director of IPPR
Hertford Conversations are delighted to be hosting the first talk of our new series ‘Debating Capitalism’ with Tom Kibasi.
Tom Kibasi is the current Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), widely regarded as one of the UK’s most influential think tanks. Since taking over as director in 2016, Tom has overseen key research into the NHS, the impact of Brexit, and the relationship between tech and society.
Most notably, Tom was the editor of the recent report: ‘Prosperity and Justice: A plan for the New Economy’ (2018), which was widely heralded as a paradigm-shifting assertion of the need for a reformed British economy. Before joining IPPR, Tom was a partner at McKinsey and Company.
Come and join us in the Baring Room, Hertford College, on Thursday 29 November. Tickets are free and are available through Eventbrite.
