OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Why Catholics Aren’t Environmentalists (of a Certain Sort)... The Ecological Vision of Catholic Social Teaching
What is care for creation according to Catholicism and what does this care require from us? This lecture will examine the account of creation offered within Catholic theology and applied within the Catholic social teaching tradition. It will argue that in important respects this leads to an ethic of creation care that is distinct from a ‘modernist’ account of nature. In contrast, Catholicism recasts environmentalism through the articulation of an integral ecology—one that integrates care for the earth and for one another into our love of God.
