On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

This seminar will be presented by Professor Jane Hirst, Chair of Global Women’s Health, The George Institute for Global Health, Imperial College London.
Prof Jane Hirst is an academic consultant obstetrician at the OUH, and global public health practitioner based at Imperial College London. She leads the George Institute for Global Health’s Women’s Health Program, with research interests in lifelong effects of pregnancy complications, digital health and AI for women’s health equity, and the effects of climate change on women and girls.
Pregnancy in a warming climate
Heat waves are becoming more frequent and prolonged due to climate change. There is an urgent need to understand who is most vulnerable to extreme heat, to increase awareness in the community, and to align health service delivery during heat emergencies. A large body of evidence has highlighted the specific risks pregnant women and unborn babies face during heat events. This talk will explore current policy responses to protect pregnant women from extreme heat, and introduce the Heat in Pregnancy-India consortium.
