The Landscape of Intrapreneurship with Maggie De Pree

The Intrapreneur’s Toolkit: How to drive social and environmental #changefromwithin
Intrapreneurs are inherently impatient people. When they see a suboptimal situation, they experience an intense need – almost like an itch that has to be scratched – to roll up their sleeves and improve things. In this way, intrapreneurs are very much like entrepreneurs – people who don’t take no as an answer and push on to make things happen.
The difference, however, is that intrapreneurs work inside organizations with existing ways of working and strategic priorities. When the vision or intentions of the intrapreneur do not sit comfortably with the present norms of the organization, this can create a sense of tension and, at worst, a feeling of alienation for the intrapreneur and his or her colleagues.
How can we get better at bringing people along with us when we are impatient to make change?
This lunch discussion will explore some of the common pitfalls of innovation and intrapreneurship with a particular focus on building support and community for your idea. We’ll look at specific approaches, tools and frames that have helped intrapreneurs to navigate the complex realities of their organizations to get amazing stuff done.

Themes we’ll explore together:
Getting Buy In for Your Idea
Finding Communities of Support
Understanding How Change Happens
Creating Empathy & Trust
Fostering Your Own Personal Resilience
