OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Step into the future of research with our hands-on AI workshop, designed to empower you with the skills to find, analyse, and share information sources. Explore cutting-edge GenAI tools such as ChatGPT and Perplexity, and gain practical experience in using them, including learning best practices for referencing AI-generated content while avoiding plagiarism. This session offers a unique opportunity to enhance your research capabilities and stay ahead in the evolving academic landscape.
By the end of this session, you will be able to: explain what AI means and several key terms; understand some different categories of AI tools; learn how to properly cite AI and avoid plagiarism; describe how some AI tools can be used for research, including their strengths, weaknesses, and best practices; have had hands-on experience with several AI tools.
