Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. The two-week OxTalks freeze period starts on Monday 2nd March. During this time, there will be no facility to publish or edit events. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period. Across the human genome, the major histocompatibility complex region on chromosome 6 harbors the largest number of genotype-phenotype associations identified to date. I will give an overview of some of the advances that have helped in the characterization of inherited DNA sequence variation across the region as well as the fine-mapping of MHC associations for a wide range of diseases.
