OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed as soon as possible.

Cryptography at war: The History of a Dual-Use Technology
This talk takes a look at the tumultuous history of cryptography from the late 20th century to today.
It gives an introduction to cryptography as a State tool for secret communication and as a weapon of war, and its transition into a so-called dual-use technology. The talk concludes by exploring cryptographic algorithms from the perspective of civil resistance and asymmetric warfare.
Speaker: Andreas Tsamados
This in-person event is free and open to all. Refreshments will be served from 5.00 pm, followed by the talk at 5.30 pm. There will be a Q&A session after the talk and a drinks reception.
