OxTalks is Changing
OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
SSHM World AIDS Day Online Lectures
Please note that this event will be recorded and uploaded to SSHM's YouTube channel in due course.
The Society for the Social History of Medicine (SSHM) is delighted to introduce its next online public event, free of charge, in recognition of World AIDS Day. We will hear from two American scholars investigating the impact of HIV/AIDS on Black communities in the United States:
Dr Aishah Scott will present “Trickledown Respectability Politics and HIV/AIDS in Black America”
Dr Antoine Johnson will present “(Re)Framing AIDS: A Critical Approach to Vulnerability”
The session, chaired by Dr Richard A McKay, will leave plenty of time for questions from the audience.
