OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.
If staff have any questions about the Oxford Events launch, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
The European Studies Centre, St Antony’s College, is delighted to welcome and host, at its opening event for the academic year 2020/21, João Vale de Almeida, the Ambassador of the European Union to the United Kingdom. He will be the lead speaker for our customary panel discussion on “Europe: State of Play”. The year 2020 has been truly extraordinary for the EU, its member states and all citizens. The panel is an open invitation to reflect on very current EU affairs, including the agenda of the Germany EU presidency, the achievements and shortcomings of European crisis mitigation (Covid and refugees for example), this summer’s EU budget agreements and the New Green Deal Agenda. It might — what a surprise — also include some thoughts on Brexit. Other panelists include Professor Kalypso Nicolaidis and Centre Director Hartmut Mayer. The event is designed as an open conversation with the audience. Hence, join us on Zoom and discuss where Europe is heading with the EU’s official voice here in the UK.
