On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.

Registration required: distinguishedursrohner.eventbrite.com. The School is happy to welcome Urs Rohner, Chairman of Credit Suisse and Dr. Marc Ventresca to discuss theory and practice of innovating during turbulent times. The banking industry is facing multiple challenges: restrictive regulation, margin pressure, public scrutiny, increasing competition from emerging markets and innovative offerings- once safely at the sector’s periphery- gaining traction. With banking culture, business structures and regional focus all changing simultaneously, innovation was long neglected. In 2013, nearly USD 3bn were invested in FinTech start-ups and incumbents are trying to catch up with disruptive innovators in terms of client service, accessibility and pricing models. Can established players cope with innovation pressures or will the ‘incumbent’s curse’ prevent them from being successful in the long term?
