On 28th November OxTalks will move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events' (full details are available on the Staff Gateway).
There will be an OxTalks freeze beginning on Friday 14th November. This means you will need to publish any of your known events to OxTalks by then as there will be no facility to publish or edit events in that fortnight. During the freeze, all events will be migrated to the new Oxford Events site. It will still be possible to view events on OxTalks during this time.
If you have any questions, please contact halo@digital.ox.ac.uk
Please note this seminar will be recorded.
Drawing upon examples from the Rockefeller and Ford Archives, Victoria Phillips’ hybrid session offers practical strategies and insights to help navigate and unlock hidden treasures for life-writing research. Working with the Rockefeller Archive Center and Marissa Vassari, this session will focus on the funding of the atomic bomb, exploring how archival records shed light on this pivotal historical moment.
Preparatory Reading:
Participants will be sent compulsory preparatory readings after registration closes at 19:00 on 4 March. Attendees joining in person are encouraged to bring their own laptops.
Dr Victoria Phillips (Columbia University) is the author of Martha Graham’s Cold War: The Dance of American Diplomacy and is a Visiting Scholar at OCLW. She is also a Global Fellow at the Wilson Center in Washington, DC, where she co-directs the Cold War Archival Research Institute.
