OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected in early Hilary to allow all events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. Lecture 6: Permanently Temporary Cities: Refugee Camps
Please note that all six lectures will take place in-person only, and the lectures will not be recorded.
Many camps are now the size of cities, with populations in the hundreds of thousands. Around the globe, architects and NGOs operating on a shoestring budget, struggle to design shelters and schools responsive to the needs of refugees traumatized by persecution and genocide.
