Adam Wagner - 'Emergency State: How We Lost Our Freedoms in the Pandemic & Why it Matters'
The Principal and Fellows of St Anne’s are delighted to welcome alumnus, barrister and author, Adam Wagner back to college as he launches his book ‘Emergency State’.
“Emergency State is a ringside account of a turbulent period when our freedoms were more severely restricted than ever before in peacetime, and our laws were radically remade by a government which exercised almost unlimited power. A wake-up call and a warning of what happens when a state of emergency becomes an Emergency State, written by one of the UK’s leading human rights barristers.”
Join us at 6.00pm on the 21st November, in person and online, where Adam will talk us through his new book, which tells the startling story of the state of emergency which became an emergency state, followed by a Q&A.
There will then be the opportunity to meet Adam afterwards, purchase a copy of his book and ask him questions over a drink.
