OxTalks is Changing
Oxford Events, the new replacement for OxTalks, will launch on 16th March. From now until the launch of Oxford Events, new events cannot be published or edited on OxTalks while all existing records are migrated to the new platform. The existing OxTalks site will remain available to view during this period.
From 16th, Oxford Events will launch on a new website: events.ox.ac.uk, and event submissions will resume. You will need a Halo login to submit events. Full details are available on the Staff Gateway.
History research event and lunch in memory of Dr John Walsh
We are delighted to invite you to a special event celebrating the immense contribution that Emeritus Fellow Dr John Walsh, who very sadly died last year, made to Jesus College and to the wider academic community across the world. During the event we will hear about the legacy of John’s teaching and research from former students and colleagues of John, as well as from those studying History at College today, The event will conclude with an informal buffet lunch with wine in Hall.

11:00 Coffee and Pastries will be served in the Cheng Kar Shun Digital Hub in the new Cheng Building
11:30 Dr Felicity Heal will introduce and chair a roundtable discussion about John’s teaching at Jesus with Professor Tony Claydon, Professor Sir Richard Evans, Professor Howell Harris, Dr Colin Haydon and Professor Colin Jones CBE.
12:40 Dr Alexandra Gajda will conclude the session by discussing the continuation of John’s legacy of teaching History in Jesus today, before introducing current members of the JR Green (College History) society who will talk briefly about studying History and their society activities
13:15 Informal buffet lunch with wine in Hall
