Planetary Healthcare: caring for people and planet in a climate crisis
Online talk by ECM alumni Andrea MacNeill and Deon Louw as part of Meeting Minds Global. The health care sector has a critical role to play in addressing climate and ecological breakdown, both through adapting to serve populations most affected by environmental change, but also through tackling its own contribution. The health sector contributes approximately 5% of global greenhouse gas emissions and controls 10% of global GDP, thus presenting an opportunity to catalyze societal transformation beyond the scope of its own operations. Come hear ECI alumni Drs. Andrea MacNeill and Deon Louw share their work mobilizing the health sector toward net zero emissions and a net positive effect for human and environmental health.
