This seminar will discuss experiences in using qualitative and quantitative research as part of the Gender, Agriculture and Assets Project (gaap.ifpri.info), particularly in the development and validation of the project-level Women’s Empowerment in Agriculture Index (pro-WEAI).  It will address tips and practical challenges and ordering of mixed methods approaches, and present an example from Nepal where exploring the tensions between qualitative and quantitative findings led to new insights and improved methods overall.
