OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. During this period, you will not be able to submit or edit events on OxTalks. The exact freeze dates will be confirmed on the Staff Gateway and via email to identified OxTalks users.

Professor Sophie Scott will address the links between perception and production networks in the control of human vocalisations, and how these vary during different kinds of vocal behaviour, including variation in speech production. She will demonstrate that current models of speech production, which posit a key role for error correction mechanisms in speech production are likely limited in their value, and also are that speech production and voice production may have more in common in neurobiological terms than we have necessarily assumed.
