Understanding how connective tissue fibroblasts direct muscle tissue formation

This seminar will be held using Zoom. Please register here: https://zoom.us/meeting/register/tJcpduyspjwiGNDIdS_3J4a26BIiMOHsiFTg

My lab is interested in the formation and maintenance of a healthy musculoskeletal system. We are currently focused on studying how individual muscle tissue bundles are formed and the role of periosteal cells in bone formation and homeostasis.
I will discuss our recent work to characterise the role of irregular connective tissue fibroblasts in organising muscle fibres into individual muscle bundles and how disruption of their normal activity can lead to muscle dysplasia/hypoplasia.
