OxTalks will soon be transitioning to Oxford Events (full details are available on the Staff Gateway). A two-week publishing freeze is expected to start before the end of Hilary Term to allow all future events to be migrated to the new platform. Emerging middle classes and the politics of financial development: revisiting the “new rich” in Southeast Asia
Lena Rethel is Professor of International Political Economy at the University of Warwick. She is the principal investigator of the ERC-selected/UKRI-funded FINDEM project, which explores the impact of middle-class expectations on financial policy and politics in Indonesia and Malaysia.
