Nanoengineering for the delivery of therapeutics: from idea to start up
George is the cofounder and managing director of Sixfold Bioscience, a Y Combinator backed biotech that utilises advanced nanoengineering to create safer and more targeted systems for the delivery of RNA therapies. Sixfold’s Mergo™ platform has been designed from the bottom-up to overcome some major limitations of traditional drug delivery systems and unlock treatments for potentially thousands of diseases. Prior to Sixfold, George completed his PhD at Cambridge University where he implemented novel methods for the visualisation of nano-structures in complex cellular models. In this talk George will present a short overview of his career, life at a startup, how to attract funding and building a multidisciplinary team from scratch.
