OxTalks will soon move to the new Halo platform and will become 'Oxford Events.' There will be a need for an OxTalks freeze. This was previously planned for Friday 14th November – a new date will be shared as soon as it is available (full details will be available on the Staff Gateway).
In the meantime, the OxTalks site will remain active and events will continue to be published.

Biography:
Lindsay Richards is a quantitative sociologist with interests in social change, status, social cohesion, attitudes, and health and well-being. She obtained her PhD from the University of Manchester with a thesis on the role of social connectedness in the money-happiness relationship. From 2014 to 2018 she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Centre for Social Investigation at Nuffield College, during which she worked on a collaborative project mapping out social progress in Britain in the post-war period, and on a project tracking attitudes over the course of the Brexit negotiations.
Since joining the Sociology Department in 2018, her research has focused on the consequences of social mobility and social status for attitudes and health, the relationship between economic inequality and social relationships, and the complex relationship between identities and political views.
